Lions, Tigers, and Robots Oh My!

Lions, Tigers, and Robots Oh My!

Double, double toil and trouble! Fire burn, and cauldron bubble!

Happy Halloween, RoboPeople! To celebrate the spookiest holiday of the year, our team turned some classic monsters into robots!

Haunted House

Fun Fact: Haunted houses first came into being during the 19th Century. In London, artist Marie Tussaud unveiled a series of decapitated wax sculptures to the public. Some of the headless sculptures were of popular French icons, including King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette. The event was dubbed “The Chamber of Horrors”.

Thing from The Addams Family

Fun Fact: Did you know that the classic Addams Family theme song is only one person singing? That’s right! The studio didn’t want to spend the money and hire a bunch of artists, so Vic Mizzy just recorded his voice three separate times!

Dracula

Fun Fact: Dracula has been in over 200 films, the second most of any fictional character. Who’s the first you may ask? Well, it’s none other than the world’s greatest detective, Sherlock Holmes!

Frankenstein

Fun Fact: Mary Shelly, who wrote Frankenstein in 1817, was only 18 years old when she first started the book. It is widely considered the first ever science-fiction novel.

Werewolf

Fun Fact: There is a medical condition called hypertrichosis that causes excess hair growth on all areas of the human body. It is dubbed the “werewolf syndrome.”

Headless Horseman

Fun Fact: Why is the horseman headless? Because his friends in the army carried away his body and left his head behind on the battlefield! It was said it came off after he was hit by a cannonball.

And that’s the end of this spooky DevBlog! Make sure to stay safe and have fun this Halloween and tune in next week to check out some new parts and cosmetic updates for RoboCo!
